Gaynelle Riffe has been a part of the Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor Coalition since its inception in 2000. She is a graduate of Stratford High School and attended the University of Colorado. She has been married to her husband, Don, for over 50 years where they are involved in a family business, Stratford Grain Company since 1929. She serves the coalition as a member of the Board of Directors and has worked diligently to develop local community support throughout the corridor.
Gaynelle has also been a key supporter of improvements to US 54, which cuts across the Texas Panhandle from the southwest to the northeast. She is a leader in SPIRIT, the Southwest Passage Initiative for Regional and Interstate Transportation, a coalition between New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
A few of Gaynelle's interests through the years include Boy Scouts (Silver Fawn Award); Girl Scouts (Council President); Red Cross Water Safety and First Aid Instructor; Sunday School teacher and Community Volunteer.
Gaynelle and her husband have five children: Andrew, who is involved in the family business; Laura, a high school counselor; Carrie, an office manager for physician husband; Diann, an elementary teacher; and Christopher, a computer programmer. They also have twelve grandchildren.
